General University Requirements (GUR) / Cluster Area Requirements (CAR) Subjects

All undergraduate students at PolyU are required to take a number of General University Requirements (GUR) courses, which consists of six components including the Cluster Area Requirements (CAR) subjects. CIHK will offer a number of Chinese culture related subjects in the Cluster Area of History, Culture and World Views.

(1) Cultural History of the Eastern Silk Road (part of the course to be held in Xi’an); (Please Click here for application)
(2) Women and Their Everyday Life in Imperial China;
(3) The Underground World of Early Imperial China
(4) Practical Dreamers in Chinese History (also a subject under the Minor in Chinese Language and Culture programme);
(5) A Glimpse of Contemporary Livelihood Issues in China;
(6) Introduction on Asian Popular Cultures.
